BEFORE.

Media Abseiling was tasked with helping bring an ambitious vision to life at one of the biggest events in the British racing calendar: the creation of the first ever Lando Norris, LANDOSTANDS at Silverstone.

The brief went far beyond simply installing graphics.

Four large grandstand structures were to be transformed into a complete Lando Norris fan experience, wrapped in his unmistakable luminous yellow and black branding and designed to make an impact across the circuit.

Following our initial site visits, it quickly became clear that conventional installation methods weren’t going to deliver the coverage, finish or structural performance the project required.

DURING.

Working closely with our client and not one, but two specialist engineering firms, we developed a completely bespoke Key Clamp framing system specifically for the LANDOSTANDS.

While we’ve designed and installed bespoke framing systems before, this configuration was very different and definitely a first of its kind.

The system was engineered to reduce the amount of steelwork required while maximising both coverage and structural strength. More than 625 linear metres of steel framework were ultimately installed to create the supporting structure for the enormous branded areas.

The result gave our installation teams the framework they needed to transform all four stands while meeting the unique demands of the existing structures.

3,400m²+ of Branding

Across the four LANDOSTANDS, our teams installed more than 3,400m² of branded coverage:

Stand A: 1,310.6m²
Stand B: 824.4m²
Stand C: 824.4m²
Stand D: 435.4m²

And yes, at more than 435m², Stand D was the smallest of the four. From the scale of the graphics to the complexity of the supporting framework, every element had to work together to create one cohesive visual experience.

FINISHED.

The Finishing Touches

The transformation didn’t stop at the grandstands. To complete the fan zone, 50 branded flagpoles featuring alternating Lando Norris logos were installed throughout the area. Flying above the crowds and lining the fan zone, they helped connect the individual stands and turn the space into a fully immersive LANDOSTAND environment.

Delivered Under Pressure

The project represented approximately two months of planning and delivery and more than 1,000 man hours, involving close coordination between our teams, our client, printers and specialist engineers.

With Silverstone’s British Grand Prix providing an immovable deadline, every stage had to finished in time.

The finished LANDOSTANDS were impossible to miss, four grandstands transformed in Lando Norris’ signature luminous yellow and black, creating a distinctive destination for fans throughout the race weekend.

And the timing couldn’t have been better.

Lando Norris went on to win the 2025 British Grand Prix.

The LANDOSTANDS therefore became the backdrop to an unforgettable weekend for British motorsport fans and an incredible project for our team to have helped deliver.

The fan response wasn’t exactly subtle either. The installation proved so popular that some fans even left Silverstone with pieces of the branding as souvenirs.

We’ll take that as a compliment.
